World's Greatest Mom!
Some say that I take after my mom. Meaning I share many of the same traits as her. Some things that are from my mom that have become a part of me follow.
"M"" is for the Miracles she has performed. Some may not see these as miracles, but to me she has accomplished many superhuman feats. She came from a poor background and managed to come to the United States. She gave birth to my sister and I. She climbed from the very bottom of the ladder at her work to the top. She worked and continues to work countless graveyard shifts to provide for her family. When I think I need a miracle to accomplish an impossible task, my mom reminds me that anything is possible.
"O" is for how she treats Others. She has taught me the meaning of being selfless. She is the most generous person I know giving up alot of her time and money to help others. She donated our home for years at a time to bring her mom, siblings, and extended family into the United States. She will help someone financially even when she is struggling herself. She treats everyone with respect. She forgives people who have wronged her. One of the most important lessons I've learned from her is that people are more important than money and that what you give pales in comparison to what you get back.
"T" is for her Toughness. She has taught me to stick up for my beliefs and become proactive in maintaining my integrity. She may be a small person on the outside, but even I have to look up to her for her assertiveness. A specific time I can recall is when she single handidly took action against a discrespectful supervisor at her work when no one else would and won.
"H" is for her Humbleness. With so much to be proud about, she does not have to announce to the world about what she has accomplished. She strives for excellence in whatever she does not for the recognition but just because that's the only way she knows how to do things.
"E" is for her emphasis on Education. My mom became valedictorian when she was in school and knows the value of education. My mom supports me in whatever I want to learn by providing me with the resources required to learn it. She paid thousands of dollars to send me to a private school from kindergarden to senior year and thousands more for college. I wanted to learn how to play pool, so she bought me a pool table. I wanted to learn how to play basketball, so she had a basketball court built in the backyard. I wanted to learn how to use a computer, so she bought me a computer. She continues to try to learn new things that some people think are too hard such as investing, and after she learns something, she tries to teach others.
"R" is for her Radiance. My mom is a beautiful person inside and out. And I thank her for passing on her good looks to me. ;)
Some say I'm a momma's boy, and you can see why. I plan to pass on what I've learned from her to everyone I come in contact with, so that her legacy will live on forever.
Happy Mother's Day Mom. You are the world's greatest mom! I love you!
